ABOUT

BIOGRAPHY

NaNa Sainte Croix, an artist born in Aix-en-Provence, capitalizing on part of her Native American origins, has a unique talent for capturing the mystery of emotions and making them eternal through her works.

Her studio, nestled on the second floor of her house at the foot of the Luberon, where she lives in a typical village. Her environment, imbued with calm and gentleness, is reflected in each of her contemporary creations.

Authenticity and simplicity are the key words of her art, where she masters the subtlety of colors and gives free rein to the material and pigments to come together in an aesthetic that is both unexpected and harmonious.

His works, now over 20 years old, sometimes gentle, sometimes harsh, provoke reactions and create memories. They are aimed at those who, overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of urban and informational life, yearn to escape it to find calm, gentleness, and emotion.

NaNa Sainte Croix works on wooden supports or canvases on stretchers, using a unique technique of mixing acrylic and natural pigments, to which she adds elements such as lime and wood ash to thicken the materials she spreads on her works.

She draws her inspiration from memories evoked by emotions and sensations, such as walking barefoot on cool stone on a hot day. Natural and raw materials such as thick hemp fabrics, stone, terracotta, and wood, as well as soft, light natural colors, nourish her imagination.

She particularly enjoys monochrome ambiances, creating a cozy and soothing cocoon. In her studio, each work is born from a meticulous and passionate process, where she immerses herself completely to transform her ideas into unique creations.

By exploring his artistic universe, we discover a world where nature, emotion and creativity meet, offering an enriching and unique experience in the field of contemporary art.
